To become a collector, a candidate must be a graduate in any stream from a recognized university.

Such students who are in final year of graduation can also give UPSC exam.

This exam is conducted in three stages. 1. Preliminary Exam 2. Mains exam 3. Interview process

There are two papers in the Preliminary Exam. Each paper carries 200 marks. That is, the paper of total 400 marks.

The first paper is of Current Affairs, Indian History in Politics and the second paper is of Civil Services Aptitude Test i.e. CSAT.

Mains exam There are descriptive type questions in this exam and their total marks are 1750 and there are 9 papers in it.

Interview The next step after mains is the interview. After cracking the Mains exam, the selected candidates qualify for the interview.

The interview is of 275 marks and it is a questionnaire test. After which are ed in the final cutoff
